Louisiana football will return to the comforts of Cajun Field for the second week in a row as it hosts a Sun Belt Conference foe, South Alabama.
The Ragin’ Cajuns (8-1, 5-0 SBC) are reeling with momentum after winning their sixth game in a row beating Arkansas State 55-19 last week. Their dominating Homecoming victory maintains their perfect conference record, but they aren’t out of the woods yet in their quest to a Sun Belt championship appearance.
The Jaguars (4-5, 3-2 SBC) stand in the Cajuns’ way of securing the top spot in the Sun Belt West division. Last year, when these squads met, UL handled the Jaguars 33-20 and they will be looking for a similar outcome for this year’s Louisiana Salutes game.
Establishing the run game will be top on the Cajuns’ list in this matchup as it proved to be successful against Arkansas State. Running back duo, redshirt junior Dre’lyn Washington and redshirt freshman Bill Davis led the charge rushing for a combined four touchdowns in the win over the Red Wolves.
For South Alabama, it will look to get the passing game going with redshirt freshman quarterback Gio Lopez leading it. Will the Jaguars be the team to spoil UL’s stellar win streak? The Cajuns and their fan base will be hoping otherwise in this Week 12 showdown.
