Big Bend High School football playoff week 1 live scores from Tallahassee area games

The postseason has arrived for Big Bend football teams as the race for a state championship starts Friday night.

There are 11 area programs competing for a chance to end the season with some hardware. There are nine games this weekend, with Jefferson County the only local team not in action as the Tigers await the winner of No. 12 Wewahitchake vs. No. 5 Dixie County in the Florida Invitational Rural Tournament.

Tallahassee Democrat reporter Liam Rooney will be at Gene Cox Stadium to provide live updates and coverage of Godby football’s round one matchup with Suwannee. It’s the first postseason appearance for the Cougars since 2020.
