Barring a late change, Georgia football will be without one of its top offensive players for one of its biggest games of the season.
Running back Trevor Etienne has been downgraded to out for the No. 10 Bulldogs’ game Saturday against No. 4 Tennessee, according to the most recent SEC availability report, which was released Thursday night.
Etienne had previously been listed as questionable as he nurses a rib injury.

A Florida transfer in his first season with the program, Etienne has rushed for a team-high 477 yards and seven touchdowns this season while average five yards per carry. He has been a receiving threat out of the backfield, as well, with 23 catches for 140 yards.
His impact has been muted in recent weeks, with 55 combined rushing yards on 13 carries in games against Florida and Ole Miss.
Etienne is one of four Georgia running backs on the availability report, with Roderick Robinson II and Branson Robinson both out and Cash Jones questionable.

Without Etienne, coach Kirby Smart’s team will continue to have to lean primarily on freshman Nate Frazier, who had 47 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in a 28-10 loss last Saturday at Ole Miss.
Saturday’s game against Tennessee at Sanford Stadium has no shortage of stakes for the Bulldogs.
A loss would be Georgia’s third of the season and put its College Football Playoff hopes in serious peril.
