Isaac Wilson injury update: Will Utah quarterback play for Utes vs Colorado today?

Utah football has been snake-bitten at quarterback during the 2024 college football season.

Already down three quarterbacks entering Saturday’s matchup vs. Travis Hunter and No. 20 Colorado, the Utes could play without the services of a fourth: Isaac Wilson. On Friday evening, former Colorado coach Ron McBride said on a radio show that Wilson would not be available due to “an illness” on Saturday vs. the Buffaloes.

Ron McBride just said on the air with @975hans and me that he believes that Isaac Wilson will not be available for the Utes tomorrow as he is dealing with illness.

If Wilson were to miss the game, fourth-string QB Luke Bottari, who had been listed as Wilson’s backup this week, would earn the start.

Isaac Wilson injury update

11:43 p.m. Max Olson of The Athletic reports that Wilson is suited up and took first-team reps in warmups.

According to Bryan Fischer of Sports Illustrated, despite the questions surrounding his playing status for Saturday vs. Colorado, Wilson took the field and warmed up with his teammates.

Utah QB Isaac Wilson was out for early warmups and was throwing. We’ll see if he’s going to play today.

Utah has already lost Cam Rising and Sam Huard to season-ending injuries. Brandon Rose, who made his first career start last week against BYU, was injured last week and required surgery, which will keep him out for the rest of the season as well.
