Nov. 19—BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Frostburg State earned 12 selections to the All-MEC (Mountain East Conference) teams, as voted on by the conference’s head coaches and announced on Monday.
Senior defensive linemen Yasir Holmes and Leonard Scott, senior linebacker Colby Street, junior linebacker Jaylen Boyd, and redshirt sophomore return specialist Jordan Marcucci were all named to the All-MEC First Team.
Holmes led the MEC with eight sacks and finished second with 18.5 tackles for loss.
Holmes tied for seventh with 68 tackles and tied for 10th with 39 solo stops.
He earned honorable mention all-MEC selections in 2022 and 2023.
Scott was a first-team selection for the second year in a row after finishing fourth in the conference with 10.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
Street also went back-to-back on the first-team after finishing sixth with 72 tackles.
On Saturday against Fairmont State, Street recorded 18 tackles, the most in a single game by anyone in the MEC this season.
Boyd tied for 16th with 61 tackles and was tied for third with three forced fumbles.
This was Boyd’s first career All-MEC selection.
Marcucci led the conference with a 31.9 kick return average and was second in the conference with 829 kick return yards.
He returned a kickoff for a touchdown in three straight games.
Junior offensive lineman Doug Pruim and junior defensive back Wylan Harich earned a spot on the All-MEC Second Team,
Prium helped the Bobcats gain 3,921 combined yards of offense averaging 356.5 per game.
Harich earned his third All-MEC selection after earning first-team honors in 2022 and 2023.
Harich recorded 58 tackles which was top 25 in the conference.
He blocked six kicks which was second in Division II.
Harich was the only MEC player with more than two blocked kicks.
