Texas A&M (8-2, 5-1 SEC) will face Auburn (4-6, 1-5 SEC) for the last SEC road game of the regular season. Despite the Tigers’ 1-5 record in SEC play, playing inside Jordan-Hare Stadium at night is a disaster waiting to happen if the Aggies aren’t prepared and don’t come out of the gate as the aggressor.
While Saturday’s 38-3 win over New Mexico State didn’t quite move the needle, head coach Mike Elko was proud of the efficiency on both sides, including redshirt freshman quarterback Marcel Reed’s improvement in the pocket. Reed finished 20/31 for 286 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, junior defensive lineman Malick Sylla surprised everyone in his second statistical showing this season, recording a team-high two sacks and three tackles for loss, as the 6-6 athlete should see more playing time over the next two weeks to help the pass rush even more.
On Monday, Mike Elko, alongside linebacker Taurean York and wide receiver Jabre Barber, spoke to the media to preview Auburn. Here’s what both players had to say.

“We love the support and seeing the fans camped out. We know we still have a game to go play… It’s a business trip.”
