The Florida football secondary will remain banged up going into its matchup on Saturday against No. 9 Ole Miss.
Top cover corners Jason Marshall Jr., Devin Moore and Ja’Keem Jackson all remain out for the Florida Gators (5-5, 3-4 SEC) in their meeting with the Rebels (8-2, 4-2 SEC). Linebacker Grayson Howard also is out for the second straight week.
With all three players out, Florida will look to play Dijon Johnson and Trikweze Bridges extended snaps at cornerback again facing an Ole Miss offense that leads the SEC in passing at 365.7 yards per game.
“Trikweze Bridges’ position flexibility has proved to be very valuable,” Florida football coach Billy Napier said. “He can play corner the entire game.”
Roderick Kearney is listed as questionable on the injury report and running back Montrell Johnson Jr. is now fully healthy. Johnson has two carries for 14 yards against LSU last week.
For Ole Miss, wide receiver Tre Harris is listed as probable and will likely return for the Rebels against UF. Harris, who has been out since Oct. 12 against LSU, has 59 catches for 987 yards and 6 TDs in seven games this season.
Napier has familiarity with Harris, as he coached at Louisiana the same time Harris was a prep standout in Lafayette, La.
“Tre, (he’s) a phenomenal football player,” Napier said. “Really proud of him in terms of his journey, see him develop. He was a high school quarterback, and to see him grow, you know, I’ve been keeping up with him, know him well. Great, great kid, great family.”
