Notre Dame is now number 5 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll after beating Army 49-14 at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.
That is the highest the Fighting Irish have been since beating Texas A&M in the season opener. The Irish also were ranked fifth after that game.
Saturday’s slew of upsets has shaken the poll, though the top five didn’t change aside from the Irish’s entry into that group.
The top four remain Oregon, Ohio State, Texas and Penn State.
Georgia, Tennessee, Miami (Florida), SMU and Indiana round out the top 10.
That latter half of the top 10 is where a lot of movement occurred. Tennessee and Miami (Fl) gained three spots and SMU picked up four. Indiana slid five spots to number 10 after being blown out by Ohio State.
Other big movers included Clemson, up five spots, and Alabama, which slid six spots to No. 13 after being outclassed by Oklahoma.
Arizona State jumped seven spots to No. 14 after upsetting BYU, and Ole Miss slid six to No. 15 after being upset by Florida.
BYU and Texas A&M dropped five spots after losses, and Iowa State is up five spots after beating Utah.
Colorado dropped seven places to N. 23 after falling to Kansas and Army, Notre Dame’s opponent Saturday night, fell seven spots to 25th.
