Michigan State head coach Jonathan Smith watches a play against Michigan during the first half at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024.
The final stretch of recruiting in the 2025 class is here, which means flip season is upon us, as prospects look to finalize where they will call home.
For Michigan State football, there are a couple of prospects that they are in pursuit of, looking to flip into their 2025 recruiting class, which currently sits at 15 commits.
The Michigan State staff would like to get that number just north of 20, if they can, and supplement their first class during the Jonathan Smith era in East Lansing.
Check out the prospects that fans need to monitor as the cycle comes to a close:
OUTGOING
East Lansing’s Jace Clarizio runs for a touchdown against Everett during the second quarter on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, in East Lansing.
Let’s get the elephant out of the room early, because while everyone loves flipping prospects, sometimes it goes in the opposite direction. In a flip article, it is worth noting two prospects are on flip watch, as the Spartans fight to keep their commitments to MSU.
East Lansing (MI) RB Jace Clarizio received an Alabama offer and took a visit to Tuscaloosa. The Spartans seemed to have weathered the storm for now, but it will be a battle until signing day.
Quince Orchard (MD) CB Aydan West has taken visits to Virginia Tech and Ohio State the past two weekends, with both schools pursuing the MSU pledge. West is scheduled to visit East Lansing next weekend, where the Spartans will get the last swing before signing day.
Lastly, until signing day is here and pen hits paper, it is worth monitoring all commitments for something unforeseen popping up in the fluid world of recruiting.
