ATHENS, Ga. — Hours after locking down their ninth win of the year, the Bulldogs have now clinched their spot in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Dec. 7, according to a league announcement.
Georgia officially clinched its spot in its 12th SEC Championship Game following losses from both Alabama and Texas A&M on Saturday. The Bulldogs’ opponent has not been decided yet. Georgia has won 14 SEC titles dating back to 1942 and is 4-7 in SEC Championship Games. The Bulldogs last posted a win in the Championship Game in 2022.
Kickoff for the SEC Championship Game will be at 4 p.m. This will be Georgia’s second trip to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium this year after the Bulldogs opened the season with a 34-3 rout of then No. 14 Clemson.
Georgia plays host to Georgia Tech on Friday, Nov. 29. ABC will televise the regular season finale at 7:45 p.m.
