.
It’s Tuesday, late in the college football season, and that means it’s time again for the lates College Football Playoff Rankings. We’re now through 13 weeks of the season and it is becoming increasingly clear some teams that will be in no matter what, but there’s also a cut line there where a loss could mean some teams just miss out on the new, 12-team CFP model.
If you are an Ohio State fan and found this little ranking, there’s a good chance the Buckeyes are in, even with a loss to Michigan on Saturday, but there’s still a chance to position themselves in an even better perch with a win against their arch-rivals and a chance at beating Oregon in a rematch in the Big Ten Championship game.
If you are a fan of another team like Oregon, Penn State, or Texas, then there might be a similar narrative, or there could be work to do for teams like Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. We like to predict what the top-12 will look like ahead of the rankings reveal, and we’re up for the challenge yet again. A challenge it is because the CFP committee has ranked teams a little different this season, and now, with so many losses among the top 12 teams, things are increasingly difficult.
Regardless, we get paid to do these sorts of things, so here’s how we predict the top -12 of the newest CFP rankings to look. We know it’s not as easy as taking the top 12 teams, but most of the playoff field will come from this group.
Off we go after Week 13, with just two more CFP rankings to come.

The Rationale
I don’t know that I feel good about this but there has been a bias with the SEC teams…
