Several things make college football the greatest sport on earth, but the first things that come to mind are the traditions and rivalries. These rivalries date back over 100 years between some of these sides with genuine hate, something you just don’t see in professional sports. Now, don’t get me wrong, there is never a bad weekend of college football, but rivalry weekend is far and away the most exciting.
With he expanded 12-team Playoff, more teams than ever will have a chance to play spoiler and ruin their rivals’ season. Conference realignment has caused some rivalries to dissipate, but almost of the major ones remain intact with even Texas and Texas A&M renewing this year.
Below is our ranking of the 10 best rivalries in college football, as well as some honorable mentions:

All-Time Rivalry Record: 51-34-7, USC Leads
The former Pac-12 titans and now Big Ten members have battled for the rights of Los Angeles 92 times, with USC being the more victorious side. It is one of the rare games in college football where both sides wear their home jerseys when they get together.
