Florida football flips 4-star defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou from Texas

Billy Napier is getting pretty good at this, folks.

Florida football flipped another recruit Sunday evening. For the second day in a row, it is a recruit from the Peach State.

Joseph Mbatchou, 4-star defensive lineman from Loganville, Georgia, and Grayson High School, flipped from Texas to Florida.

Mbatchou committed to Texas just eight days ago — on November 23rd.

However, he decided to become the third D-Lineman to join the Gators, along with 3-star Stephon Shivers and 4-star Jeramiah McCloud.

The 6-foot-4.5 and 275 pound Mbatchou is the best of the bunch, though. 247 ranks him No. 27 among DLs in the Class of 2025 and No. 35 in Georgia.

Mbatchou was born in Cameroon and will be the third foreign born player on Florida’s 2025 roster.

Napier and the Gators (7-5) finished with their first winning season since 2020 with a 31-11 win over FSU Saturday night in Tallahassee.
