CLEMSON — Clemson football added its first offensive lineman in the 2026 class with the commitment of three-star recruit Braden Wilmes on Monday night.
The 6-foot-8, 280-pounder from Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas, is rated as the No. 6 player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Wilmes announced his commitment on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Wilmes is the fifth player to commit to coach Dabo Swinney’s 2026 class, which ranks No. 11 nationally. The class features two four-star recruits (quarterback Tait Reynolds and cornerback Shavar Young Jr.) and two three-stars (tight end Tayveon Wilson and quarterback Brock Bradley).
Wilmes chose Clemson over Duke, Florida State and Arkansas. He is Clemson’s first commit from Kansas in more than five years.
