As the Longhorns continue to add to their 2025 class, they could have a reason to celebrate in the coming weeks. In On3’s latest expert prediction from Chad Simmons, the Longhorns are favored to land four-star linebacker Kellen Wiley. He is ranked as the 37th-best player in Florida and the 26th-best linebacker in his class.
If Simmons’ prediction does come true, Texas would be adding a potential star to what has been a surprisingly good defense. During the recruiting process, Wiley has drawn interest from Miami, Louisville, USF, and Florida. He is projected to be a multi-year starter and has made life difficult for opposing quarterbacks in high school.
Over the next few weeks, Wiley will be a name for many Longhorns fans to watch. He is one of the top defensive players left and would be a welcome addition to any defense. The Longhorns hope his college career will include a stop in Austin.

While plenty of factors are in play, the Longhorns have been one of the best teams in the country this season. Their latest win came over Texas A&M on Saturday, and they are only one victory away from their first SEC title. That should be a good selling point to any recruits, including Wiley.
As recruiting season for the 2025 class enters its final weeks, Simmons gave Texas a 60 percent chance to land the Tampa native. That has created excitement in Austin as the Longhorns look to add another impact piece to their roster.
