UCF signing day tracker: South Sumter linebacker first to sign to 2025 class

UCF opened the 2025 National Signing Day with plenty of uncertainty as the program moves forward amid a coaching search. Still, that didn’t stop the Knights from kicking things off with a couple of signees:

Malachi Boone

Buzz: The 3-star linebacker from South Sumter High School was the first player to sign his Letter of Intent on Wednesday. He had been committed to the program since May and recently reaffirmed his commitment after the departure of head coach Gus Malzahn on Saturday. Boone is a two-way player for the Raiders, who totaled 881 all-purpose yards on offense while amassing 408 tackles, including 79 tackles for loss with 27 sacks.

Jaquez Joiner

Buzz: The 3-star offensive tackle from Cocoa High School, committed to UCF last September, was the latest to sign his LOI. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Joiner had offers from Indiana, Marshall and USF before choosing to play for the Knights. He totaled 146 pancake blocks in 51 career games with the Tigers.
