What new Auburn football signee Anquon Fegans said about joining Tigers at AHSAA Super 7

BIRMINGHAM — Wednesday was a good day for Auburn football signee Anquon Fegans.

It started in the morning when the four-star safety out of Thompson High School signed with the Tigers. That night he was a major force as the Warriors reclaimed their throne atop the AHSAA Class 7A with a 21-7 win over Central-Phenix City.

Fegans led the way with eight tackles with an interception and fumble recovery for the Warriors. After the game, Fegans took the media through the special day.

“I already knew where I was going so that made the day easier,” Fegans said. “We didn’t know how this game was going to turn out but no matter how it turned out we knew we were going to be championships.”

For the second year in a row under Freeze, Auburn is bringing in a special class loaded with in-state talent. Fegans is joined by teammates defensive lineman Jared Smith and punter John Alan McGuire as players who also signed with the Tigers on Wednesday.

Fegans knows it will take time but that the Class of 2025, which is a top-10 class by 247Sports, will help get Auburn back to the top of the SEC.

“I will tell you, we’re going to win more than we did this year. Coach Freeze doing a tremendous job recruiting the right guys. This 25 Class going to be special,” Fegans said.
