Right in the middle of Oregon’s week of prep for the Big Ten Championship game, coach Dan Lanning and Co., bolstered the Ducks’ roster for the future.
Wednesday was national signing day and the Ducks landed 20 recruits overall, including a pair of players who made surprise decisions when they choose Oregon.
Here’s what Lanning had to say about Wednesday’s haul.
Dan Lanning said Oregon recruited ‘quality over quantity’
The class is the smallest of Lanning’s three years of a full high school recruiting cycle at Oregon. He signed 29 in 2023 and 26 in 2024.
“We wanted guys that we felt could make a great impact here and I think we certainly accomplished that,” Lanning said. “We really focused on character and size and speed, the things that matter in football.”
With four five-star recruits and 16 four-star recruits, the Ducks were fourth in the 247Sports composite team rankings Wednesday night, behind Texas, Alabama and Georgia, in that order.
Oregon’s class was also the highest-rated team in the Big Ten Conference, one spot ahead of Ohio State – a position no doubt aided by the flip of five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord from the Buckeyes to the Ducks Wednesday morning.
The Ducks signed another five-star cornerback in Brandon Finney Jr. and also reeled a pair of coveted wide receivers in the five-star duo of Dakorien Moore and Dallas Wilson.
Moore (5-foot-11, 182 pounds) had 51 catches for 1,020 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior at Duncanville High in Texas. Wilson (6-3, 195) had 41 catches for 667 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior at Tampa Bay Tec in Florida.
