LSU will send another piece of its 2024 roster to the pros.

Tight end Mason Taylor declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, according to an Instagram post sent out from his account on Thursday.

“I am excited for both the challenges and the opportunities that are in front of me, but please know that while I am leaving LSU, I will forever bleed purple and gold,” Taylor said in the post. “Geaux Tigers!”

The junior recorded 129 receptions for 1,308 yards and six touchdowns through his three seasons in Baton Rouge. He is the only tight end in LSU history to catch 100 passes and notch 1,000+ receiving yards.

For his performance this season, Taylor earned a semifinalist nod for the Mackey Award, presented annually to the best tight end in college football. He leads all SEC tight ends and ranks second on the team with 39 receptions, taking those catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps one of Taylor’s most memorable moments came in LSU’s victory over Alabama in 2022. He took a pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels into the end zone for a two-point conversation score in overtime to seal a 32-31 win.
