Upstate’s top performers in high school football Upper State championship games

Here are the Upstate’s top performers from the high school football Upper State championships Friday in the SCHSL state semifinals.

Marquise Henderson, Belton-Honea Path: Henderson ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-22 win against Mountain View Prep in the Class AAA Upper State championship. Henderson had TD runs of 81 and 32 yards. He also returned a fumble 22 yards for a touchdown and caught four passes for 64 yards.

Bryson Drummond, Mountain View Prep: Drummond passed for 114 yards (12-for-24) with a touchdown.

Jaylen McGill, Mountain View Prep: McGill ran for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Keovon Washington, Mountain View Prep: Washington caught six passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.

Trenton Lynch, Spartanburg: Lynch ran for 57 yards on 10 carries in a 24-0 loss to Dutch Fork in the Class AAAAA Division 1 Upper State championship game.

Sharode Richardson, Westside: Richardson ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a 35-14 win against South Pointe in the Class AAAA Upper State championship game. He had a 47-yard TD run on the Rams’ second snap of the game and added a 7-yarder in the first quarter.

Armoni Weaver, Westside: Weaver scored touchdowns on a pass reception and an interception return. His 10-yard defensive score put Westside up, 21-7, and he added a 30-yard TD catch in the second half.
