The Georgia Bulldogs are 2024 SEC champions! Georgia defeated the Texas Longhorns 22-19 in the first ever overtime in SEC championship history.
UGA did it without their starting quarterback as Carson Beck left the game after getting hit on a Hail Mary attempt at the end of the first half. Back up quarterback Gunner Stockton helped Georgia overcome a 6-3 halftime deficit and did just enough for Georgia to beat a very talented Texas team.
Georgia forced Texas into countless mistakes. The Bulldogs forced three turnovers and recorded six sacks along with 16 tackles for a loss. Georgia’s defense shut down Texas’ running game and did not allow the Longhorns to score a single red zone touchdown all game.

Head coach Kirby Smart called a bold fake punt on his own side of the 50 that helped UGA tack on a field goal and eat up some clock in the second half.
The SEC championship MVP, Georgia cornerback Daylen Everette, intercepted Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers twice. The Dawgs won the battle in the trenches en route to Georgia’s third SEC championship of the Kirby Smart era.
