Florida football defensive lineman Caleb Banks has announced his decision to return for his senior season. The junior shared a post on Monday via Instagram sharing his intentions to stay with the Gators for one more season.
“It goes without saying that the University of Florida football team means everything to me. It’s not just a team—it’s what I call a family. The coaches pour their hearts into us day in and day out, and my teammates play with so much love, passion, and dedication…Making it impossible not to love the Florida football program,” Banks said in his post.
“And the fans? They’re the best part of playing football. Their energy and unwavering support drive us as a team to be the best we can be.”
Banks continued, “After the incredible season Gator Nation just witnessed, I’m more motivated than ever to see what’s in store for next year—and, more importantly, to be part of it.”
The announcement is a game-changer for the Gators as they look to build on a promising foundation heading into 2025.
Banks, a dominant force in the trenches, was widely considered an early-round NFL draft prospect. His combination of size, strength and explosiveness has made him a nightmare for opposing offensive lineman and a favorite among scouts evaluating the next wave of professional talent.
With his return, the Gators not only retain one of the most disruptive defensive players in the conference but also gain a vocal leader on and off the field.
