With Notre Dame not playing this past weekend, and its next game will be against Indiana in the College Football Playoff on Dec. 20, as there will be almost a three week layover since the Irish last took the field.

While we all miss seeing them, it was great news for a pair of injured Irish players. Head coach Marcus Freeman announced on Sunday that defensive tackle Howard Cross III and running back Jeremiyah Love will be healthy and ready to go against the Hoosiers.

This is fantastic news, as Cross has been out multiple weeks, while Love looked to get banged up more than a few times over the final games of the year. It wasn’t all good news, as true-freshman linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa was ruled out.

For Notre Dame to be able to make a deep run in the CFP, health will play a big factor. They’ve already hit plenty of bad luck in that department this fall, so hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for the Irish.
