There is sure to be some disappointment at West Point with the news that Army senior quarterback Bryson Daily did not make the final cut for the Heisman Trophy award.
The Heisman Trophy is presented to the top college football player in the nation. A total of 928 ballots went out to voters, with 870 from the media, 57 living Heisman winners and one fan vote via a partnership with Nissan.
The four finalists invited to New York City for the presentation show are Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel; Colorado cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter; Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty; and, Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Daily has been in the Heisman conversation for much of the 2024 season with mounting milestone performances. He was named the top offensive player in the American Athletic Conference, and is among leaders in several statistical categories.
Daily ranks No. 9 in total rushing yards (1,480), ranks fourth with 134.5 yards per game and tops among all quarterbacks despite missing one game to injury and with one still to play – Saturday’s Commander-in-Chief Series clash with Navy. His 29 touchdowns is a record in the AAC and the storied Army program, and is tied with Boise’s Jeanty for tops in the nation.
“I don’t know that there’s anybody in the country that would balk at the idea of the starting quarterback of the Army Black Knights, who’s rushed for 100 yards in a game 10 games in a row on an 11-1 team that just won the conference championship, why doesn’t that guy belong down there?” Army coach Jeff Monken said following Friday’s 35-14 win over Tulane for the AAC championship.
