Almost a week removed from National Early Signing Day, LSU’s 2025 class remains on par with those of its past.
Head coach Brian Kelly’s previous two recruiting classes ranked seventh or higher nationally and within the SEC conference. The recent signing group is no different.
The class finished in seventh nationally and fifth in the SEC, according to On3’s industry ratings. Highlighted by three consensus five-star prospects, the Tigers received a class score of 92.14, less than four-tenths lower than its 2024 class grade and a tenth lower than its 2023 score.
Kelly’s third recruiting class holds the most five-star prospects out of his three total at LSU, signaling a bright future for his program. However, its place in the SEC fell as the 2023 class ranked third in the conference, while the 2024 group placed fourth.
In terms of in-state pull, LSU’s Louisiana recruiting fell in the middle compared to its past two classes. In 2023, 38% of the Tigers’ commitments hailed from the state, and that percentage jumped to 66% in 2024. This year, it fell to 43%.
All things considered, the 2025 class is made up of 83% blue chip recruits, signaling a high quality of recruits. 66% of 2024’s commitments were blue chips, compared to 65% in 2023.
