Wide receiver Trenton Irwin is set to join the Panthers.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Irwin is signing to the practice squad in Carolina and that he is expected to move up to the 53-man roster quickly.
Panthers offensive coordinator Brad Idzik was on the Stanford staff when Irwin played at the school.
Irwin played in seven games for the Bengals this season before being cut last week. He had three catches for 15 yards in those appearances and he had 46 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns while also returning 21 punts in 41 overall games in Cincinnati. He also had two catches for 19 yards in three playoff games.
