The Texas A&M football program reportedly gained a veteran signal-caller Tuesday night after the transfer portal opened a day earlier.
Former UAB quarterback Jacob Zeno will join his third team and play with the Aggies in 2025, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-2, 211-pound quarterback has appeared in 30 games in his collegiate career, most recently playing in four games for the Blazers. He started 11 games in 2023, throwing for 3,126 yards, 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions while rushing for four scores as well.
Over six seasons, Zeno has tallied 4,948 passing yards, 32 touchdown passes and 360 rushing yards with six touchdowns on the ground. He played sparingly over three years with Baylor before joining UAB in 2022.
Now Zeno will head to College Station, joining redshirt freshman Marcel Reed and the rest of the quarterback room.

The Aggies 2025 roster continues to round into shape after the departure of players to the transfer portal and NFL. As of the early signing period, 247 Sports ranks A&M eighth in the overall and its composite rankings. Zeno is the first of what is expected to be several transfer portal additions as head coach Mike Elko and staff look to build up the program in his second year.
The 2025 recruiting class is anchored by two five-star offensive players and 13 four-star recruits, including Texas defensive lineman DJ Sanders and Florida safety Rashad Johnson.
Up next for the Aggies is the Las Vegas Bowl against the USC Trojans on Dec. 27.
