The NCAA Football Transfer Portal is wide open and the college football world is in a state of flux as players are on the move throughout the country with more than 2,000 FBS players in the mix alone.
There are a number of players from the Savannah area who are looking to find new homes. A pair of former Benedictine quarterbacks are set to make changes as Luke Kromenhoek left FSU and Holden Geriner is departing from Auburn.
Here’s a look at players from the Greater Savannah area who have announced their plans to enter the portal.
Pauly Seeley, Wofford
The former New Hampstead standout quarterback announced he was leaving Wofford on X. He has seen some action in his first two season with the Terriers as he threw for 910 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions as a freshman, and 589 yards with three touchdowns and seven picks as a sophomore. The former Finocchiaro Award winner as the top player in Savannah has three years of eligibility left.

Jaylen Hampton, Western Kentucky
Another former New Hampstead star, Hampton announced he is leaving Western Kentucky on X in a post on Dec. 9. As a senior at New Hampstead, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound receiver had 73 catches for 1,158 yards and 14 touchdowns and ran for 86 yards and five more scores. He has four years of eligibility left.
Rocko Griffin, University of Texas at San Antonio
Griffin played at Savannah Christian, Calvary Day and graduated from South Effingham before starting his college career as a running back at Vanderbilt. He ran for 517 yards in his second season with the Commodores and eventually transferred to UTSA, where he ran for 483 yards and six touchdowns in 2023. He is entering the portal as a graduate transfer.
