BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football landed a verbal commitment from Western Kentucky defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler on Monday.
He made the announcement with a post on X.
Wheeler, who has one year of eligibility, was an unranked recruit in the 2022 signing class out of Franklin High School in California with no FBS scholarship offers. He spent one season at Sacramento City College before signing with the Hilltoppers.
He took visits to Texas A&M and Wisconsin last week before committing to the Hoosiers.

Former JMU transfer Tyrique Tucker could take over for Carpenter as the team’s starting nose tackle, but he’s going to need some help. The Hoosiers turned to the transfer portal since much of the depth they are bringing back are guys in need of some time to develop.
The addition of Wheeler was an important first step in rebuilding that defensive front.
