Ohio State, the No. 8 seed in the first 12-team College Football Playoff, will face No. 9 Tennessee at 8 p.m. Jan. 21.
It is one of four first-round games, but the only on on that day played in prime time, an indication that the networks are expecting high viewership.
Who’s calling Ohio State vs. Tennessee?
ESPN’s lead college football crew will be on hand, with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe on hand.
Herbstreit is a former Ohio State starting quarterback and returns to the broadcast booth at Ohio Stadium for the first time in two years.

A former Buckeyes quarterback who began his broadcasting career on local radio in Columbus before joining ESPN in 1995, Herbstreit has spent the last two seasons traversing the South with play-by-play announcer Chris Fowler. Their assignments have largely been in the Southeastern Conference.
Herbstreit said last week that he has enjoyed doing the SEC games, but also missed fall Saturdays in the Big Ten, where he had once been a fixture in the booth across the conference.
He was elated Sunday when he learned that he and Fowler would be on call as the Buckeyes play their first home playoff game. ESPN has been the rights holder for the playoff since its inception as a four-team field a decade ago.
“That’s where I grew up and played,” Herbstreit said. “Ohio State and the whole Big Ten will always have a very, very special place in my heart, so any time I get a chance to go back and call an Ohio State game, it’s always a thrill for me, and now especially.”
