Aaron Bryant, defensive line transfer from Texas, commits to Vanderbilt football

Vanderbilt football has landed a second transfer from another SEC school this offseason.

Aaron Bryant, a defensive tackle from Texas, announced his commitment Tuesday night on social media.

Bryant, who is from Southaven, Mississippi, spent three years with the Longhorns. He appeared in 13 games combined but had just two tackles. The 6-foot-2, 305-pounder was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class who also was offered by every SEC team except Vanderbilt and Missouri, according to 247Sports.

Like Alabama transfer Keanu Koht, Bryant is somewhat of a flier as a talented high school prospect who never got much playing time. It’s possible that he simply isn’t as good as he was thought to be coming out of high school, but he has a high ceiling if he succeeds with more playing time.

This offseason, the Commodores also have added Washington State punter Nick Haberer and Virginia Tech offensive lineman Gunner Givens.
