Things didn’t come together on early signing day between five-star receiver Dallas Wilson and the Florida Gators, but the Oregon commit is looking for a release from his financial aid agreement to sign with the Orange and Blue after all.
Wilson’s management group told On3 that the Tampa Bay Tech prospect asked to be released from his financial affidavit on Tuesday, giving Oregon until Thursday to decide. Once the Ducks comply with Wilson’s request, he’ll be free to sign wherever he pleases, and that’s with Florida.
Should all those dominoes fall into place, Wilson will be on campus in Gainesville early alongside DJ Lagway, Eugene Wilson III and Vernell Brown III to lead Florida’s passing game in 2025. Florida also returns several other receivers but has question marks behind Eugene Wilson with Elijhah Badger and Chimere Dike out of eligibility.
Dallas Wilson provides a classic deep-threat, big-bodied receiver that Florida has been looking for since Joshua Moore flipped his commitment to Miami earlier in the cycle. It also tames any worries from fans after Florida remained quiet through the first few weeks of the winter transfer period.
The recruiting saga is reminiscent of what happened with Jaden Rashada, who ultimately backed out of his national letter of intent with Florida well after the early signing period. Of course, it’s much nicer to be on the other end of that kind of decision.
Recruiting Summary
Wilson is a five-star recruit, according to both major composite rankings from 247Sports and On3. The 247Sports composite has him at No. 20 overall and No. 4 among receivers in the class of 2025, while the On3 industry ranking ranks him slightly higher at Nos. 19 and 2, respectively.
