The Georgia Bulldogs are getting ready to play the College Football Playoff without star quarterback Carson Beck, sources confirmed to ESPN.
The sports network said Beck is exploring surgery options to repair an elbow injury on his throwing arm.
ESPN said Beck hasn’t practiced with the team since Georgia’s victory against Texas in the SEC Championship game.

After the game, Channel 2’s Alison Mastrangelo spotted Beck in the tunnel, where he was seen barely moving his arm.
Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein had previously reported Carson would likely miss the Sugar Bowl.
Sources told ESPN that Beck’s return of the season is unlikely.
The Bulldogs will now turn to Gunner Stockton to lead the team to victory.
Stockton will have plenty of practice since Georgia earned a first-round bye. The No. 2 Bulldogs won’t play again until Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl against the winner of No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 10 Indiana.
