Big guy Friday: Missouri football gets pledge from 2nd portal offensive lineman of day

Friday was for the big guys up front in Columbia.

Missouri football landed its second commitment in a matter of hours Friday — both from offensive lineman — in Wake Forest transfer lineman Keagen Trost, who announced he was transferring to the Tigers via his personal X account.

Trost follows Michigan transfer Dominick Guidice, whose transfer to Mizzou was announced approximately two hours earlier. Missouri will be the fourth stop of Trost’s career.

The offensive lineman started out as an unranked commit to Morgan State in 2019 out of Kankakee, Illinois. After one season at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference school, he moved to Indiana State, where he spent four seasons and played 22 games with 12 starts. Trost then moved on to Wake Forest, where he played all 12 games in former coach Dave Clawson’s slow-mesh offense, which is essentially a slow-moving run-pass option system.

Trost, who is listed at 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, primarily lined up at offensive tackle for the Demon Deacons, which is a position Missouri will soon be lacking Power-conference experience.

After the Tigers play in the Music City Bowl against Iowa on Dec. 30 in Nashville, Tennessee, both of their starting tackles will be moving on from the program. Left tackle Marcus Bryant will run out of eligibility, while right tackle Armand Membou has already opted out of the bowl game and declared for the 2025 NFL Draft as a junior.

Mizzou can only return two starters along the offensive line in 2025 — left guard Cayden Green and center Connor Tollison — as right guard Cam’Ron Johnson is also set to run out of eligibility.
