LSU swung and missed on one of the top players in the transfer portal as he chose another SEC school.

Wide receiver Eric Singleton committed to Auburn on Monday, according to a report from On3. On3’s Industry Rankings named Singleton as the nation’s No. 2 ranked transfer prospect. LSU and Auburn, along with Texas, Miami, and Ole Miss, made Singleton’s top five for potential landing destinations.

Singleton spent his first two years of college football at Georgia Tech. In 2024, he caught 56 passes for 754 yards while adding 131 rushing yards. A versatile playmaker who contributes to the pass and run game, Singleton will give conference teams defensive trouble.

Landing Singleton would’ve been a game changer for the Tigers, who needed wide receivers after Kyren Lacy declared for the NFL draft and CJ Daniels, among others, entered the transfer portal.

The purple and gold secured commitments from transfer wideouts Nic Anderson, Destyn Hill, and Barion Brown, but adding a versatile athlete like Singleton would’ve elevated the room even more.
