Ohio State Buckeyes co-offensive coordinator Brian Hartline takes the field prior to the NCAA football game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024.
The Ohio State Buckeyes throttled the Tennessee Volunteers in their first-round College Football Playoff battle, beating the SEC side 42-17 and taking a 35-10 lead into the final quarter.
While there was quite a bit of chatter before the game on how many tickets Volunteer faithful were buying, they, in no way, drowned out the Ohio State fans The Shoe on Saturday’s first-ever playoff game at Ohio Stadium.
Outkick’s Clay Travis incorrectly thought they did, and Brian Hartline quickly put him in his place. Hartline gave a nice shoutout to what Buckeye Nation was able to do on Saturday at their home stadium.
Hartline, who has proven to be among the best coaches and recruiters on the country, had his receivers ready.
Freshman sensation Jeremiah Smith ended with 103 yards and two touchdowns, one yard short of what Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava threw for. He had six receptions as well. Emeka Egbuka had 81 yards as well.
The Buckeyes will now turn their attention to the Oregon Ducks, who they will face on January 1 from the Rose Bowl.
