Gadsden City football four-star defensive back Zyan Gibson commits to Alabama football

Gadsden City football standout defensive back Zyan Gibson has made his collegiate decision.

Gibson committed to Alabama football during a ceremony Tuesday, which was live streamed on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. Gibson was debating among Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Miami. He also held offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, LSU and Michigan.

Gibson is a four-star cornerback in the Class of 2026, according the 247Sports rankings. He is the 94th player nationally, and the 10th best cornerback. He is the seventh-rated player in the Class of 2026 from Alabama. Gibson stands at 6-foot-1, and 176 pounds.

Gibson, a three-year starter for the Titans, is coming off an all-state season as the lead defensive back for Gadsden City. While he was rarely thrown to, he had 32 tackles on the year. His effort earned him first team All-State honors from the ASWA.

Gibson is a multisport standout for the Titans, playing basketball and track and field. He ran a 10.63-second, 100-meter dash at the AHSAA track and field outdoor championships in the spring.
