Army football depth chart for Independence Bowl game vs. Louisiana Tech

Army football goes bowling this week with a lineup that has seen little change over the first 13 games, save for one notable departure. The Black Knights face Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl on Saturday (9:15 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Sophomore running back Kanye Udoh entered the NCAA transfer portal following the loss to Navy and quickly committed to Arizona State.

His absence is significant from the top rushing team in the nation. The Black Knights average 298.9 yards rushing per game, and Udoh accounted for 85 yards per contest. Overall, Udoh had 1,117 yards and 10 touchdowns.

But considering senior quarterback Bryson Daily leads the team with 24 carries and 128 yards per game, the pressure to fill Udoh’s missing yards is somewhat minimized. Daily has already had a stretch of games where he carried the ball 31, 36, 38 and 27 times. Stepping into the action will be junior Hayden Reed (20 carries, 93 yards) and sophomore Jake Rendina (28 carries, 98 yards) – both of whom have been providing superior blocking out of the backfield – with Carson Smith as well.

Army quarterback Bryson Daily (13) runs with the ball against Navy during the second half of the the 125th Army-Navy game in Landover, Md., on December 14, 2024.

Sophomore nose tackle Kody Harris-Miller should be starting once again after missing the Texas San Antonio and Tulane games but returning for Navy.

One curious absence from the depth chart is that of backup punter Cooper Allan; he hasn’t punted all season but had been listed as the backup to James Wagenseller.
