Mt. Juliet native Jasper becomes head football coach at Stetson

Dec. 24—Michael Jasper, a lineman for Mt. Juliet High in the mid-2000s, has been named head football coach at Stetson University in DeLand, Fla.

Jasper, one of handful of Wilson County high school football players to be drafted by an NFL team, spent the past six seasons as head coach of his college alma mater, Bethel University, where he posted a 44-20 record. He led the Wildcats to back-to-back 11-win seasons in 2022 and ’23, earning Mid-South Conference and NAIA Region I Coach of the Year honors in ’22.

In addition to his duties as head coach, Jasper added the title of associate athletic director of internal operations in 2022.
