After a whirlwind recruitment out of high school, and a year spent north, Courtney Crutchfield is coming home.
The Pine Bluff native gave Arkansas football fans a Christmas gift out of the transfer portal Wednesday, officially signing with the Hogs. Crutchfield spent his freshman season in 2024 at Missouri, appearing in just two games without making a reception.
However, Crutchfield’s impending transfer gives the Razorbacks some necessary juice to their wide receivers room. Crutchfield was a highly-sought recruit last year, with the 247Sports Composite rating him as the No. 100 recruit in the country and the 18th-best wide receiver.

Crutchfield originally committed to Arkansas prior to his senior year at Pine Bluff High School, but he backed off that pledge last November before signing with the Tigers. He also held offers from Auburn, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Ole Miss.

In high school, Crutchfield had a knack for making highlight-reel catches. He was exceptional at high-pointing the football and making contest grabs against defensive backs. He is comfortable operating in the slot and out wide, giving Bobby Petrino an intriguing weapon for his second season as offensive coordinator.
Crutchfield is now the third wide receiver to commit to Arkansas out of the transfer portal, joining UAB’s Kam Shanks and Fresno State’s Raylen Sharpe. The Razorbacks are losing their top-seven pass catchers from 2024 this…
