While Notre Dame football prepares to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff, it doesn’t mean they aren’t doing its job recruiting.
The Irish are off to a great start in its 2026 class, with six commitments already. There is still room for plenty of other players to join them and in a recruiting update by 247Sports Tom Loy (subscription required), he mentioned the Irish are in contention for multiple big-time players in the class.

Edge rusher Rodney Dunham
Also a great baseball prospect, Dunham named the Irish to his top list in November. A great frame at 6-foot, 4-inches and 227-pounds, he the country’s No. 33 overall prospect. Dunham could play both in South Bend, as it’s not uncommon to see football players playing another sport. Notre Dame was named as a team to watch of his top schools.
Safety Jett Washington
The exact mold that Notre Dame looks for in a safety at 6-foot, 5-inches and 200-pounds, Washington has yet to trim his list. Regardless, the Irish are in good position to land the nation’s No. 60 overall player. Loy is keeping a close eye on Notre Dame, but a clearer picture will emerge after a few official visits.
Linebacker Talanoa Ili
Notre Dame has had plenty of recent success with Polynesian players, and Ili could be the next one. There might be some work to do in his recruitment as the nation’s No. 52 overall player is currently crystal balled to Oregon.
Cornerback Khary Adams
