The 2024 AutoZone Liberty Bowl will pit a pair of former conference rivals against each other on Friday as the Arkansas Razorbacks face the Texas Tech Red Raiders. These two went head-to-head in the old Southwest Conference for 35 straight seasons, but this will be their first meeting since 2015. Arkansas (6-6) is searching for its second winning season since 2017, and the Razorbacks have won five of their last six bowl game appearances. Meanwhile, the Red Raiders (8-4) are aiming for their first nine-win season since 2009, and they’ve also been successful in recent bowls, winning three straight.
Both teams will be shorthanded for this game with Texas Tech missing starting quarterback Behren Morton (shoulder) and star receiver Josh Kelly (opt-out), among several others. Arkansas has more than a dozen players in the portal and draft prospects running back Ja’Quinden Jackson, receiver Andrew Armstrong and defensive linemen Landon Jackson and Eric Gregory have all opted out.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tenn. The line has flipped in this game, with the Red Raiders now 2.5-point favorites in the latest Arkansas vs. Texas Tech odds after opening at +2.5, while the over/under is 52.5 points per SportsLine consensus.
