UConn football will close out the 2024 season as everyone expected – playing in a baseball stadium against a team that will be coached by Bill Belichick next season.
Okay, that’s not quite the ending everyone expected, but still a fun one.
UConn (8-4) will play North Carolina (6-6) on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl at Fenway Park in Boston.
Despite a successul tenure as the Huskies coach, coach Jim Mora Jr. is searching for his first bowl win in Storrs. The Huskies haven’t won a bowl game since defeating South Carolina in the PapaJohns.com Bowl on Jan. 2, 2010.
Interim head coach Freddie Kitchens will lead the Tar Heels. Kitchens, who was previously the head coach of the Cleveland Browns for one season in 2019 , took over after Mack Brown was fired in November.
