Patriots put CB Marcus Jones on IR, rule out C Ben Brown

The Patriots announced a number of roster moves ahead of Saturday’s game against the Chargers.

Cornerback Marcus Jones was ruled out with a hip injury on Thursday and he went on injured reserve Friday. Jones will miss Week 18 because of the move, so his season is over. Jones made nine starts this season and had 58 tackles, an interception, 10 passes defensed, and two fumble recoveries. He also had one catch for 18 yards and averaged 14.6 yards as a punt returner.

Center Ben Brown (concussion) was ruled out. Cole Strange is expected to start in his place.

The Patriots also activated tackle Caedan Wallace (ankle) from injured reserve and elevated wide receiver Alex Erickson and linebacker Monty Rice from the practice squad.
