Four players to watch in the Sugar Bowl when Notre Dame football meets Georgia

Winning a quarterfinal CFP game against a program that not long ago won consecutive national championships, and still is considered among the upper echelon in the sport, may be the biggest.

That’s all that’s at stake Wednesday when Notre Dame and Georgia meet in New Orleans on New Year’s Day (8:45 p.m., ESPN). Nothing will come easy in the Big Easy.

Take last postseason when the college lacrosse standout announced his arrival as a college football playmaker. He earned Sun Bowl most valuable player honors after five catches for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Take the College Football Playoff opener against Indiana. He earned team offensive (and special teams) MVP honors after seven catches for 89 yards. Faison was a massive factor in the game plan.
