TAMPA, Fla. − Michigan football quarterback Davis Warren’s afternoon in the ReliaQuest Bowl appears to have been cut short.
The senior signal caller left the game early in the third quarter with the help of a pair of Michigan staffers after he appeared to sustain an injury to his leg when he was sacked on a third down play with the Wolverines leading 16-10. Warren, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound passer, went straight to the medical tent and appeared to be walking quite gingerly as he left the field.

Warren was 9 of 12 passing for 73 yards and one touchdown before the injury.
Interestingly, Warren was replaced by Alex Orji, a junior passer who has already put his name in the transfer portal. The other option would’ve been four-star true freshman Jadyn Davis (who many fans have clamored for) who was once thought to be the future of the position before Bryce Underwood was added into the mix.
If that ends the season for Warren, it was an up-and-down one for the former walk-on turned scholarship passer. He opened the year as the staring quarterback but after throwing six picks in three weeks lost the job. It then went from Orji to Jack Tuttle before Warren took the job back over in late October.

Warren started the final five games of the year and threw four touchdowns and three interceptions in them which included a 13-10 upset victory over Ohio State, even though Warren was just 9 of 16 for 62 yards and two picks.
Warren finishes the season having completed 134 of 209 (64.1% completions) for 1,199 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions.
