The Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Boston College Eagles 20-15 in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl. The victory was Nebraska’s first bowl win since 2015 and the program’s first winning season since 2016.
The Huskers finished the season with a 7-6 record overall and 3-6 in conference play. The Eagles also ended 2024 with a 7-6 mark with a 4-4 conference record in the ACC.
The Pinstripe Bowl marked Nebraska’s 54th bowl appearance, and the win moved the Husker’s bowl record to 27-27 all-time. The game also marked Nebraska’s first bowl game in New York since the 1962 Gotham Bowl, head coach Bob Devaney’s first season. Nebraska defeated Miami in that game 36-34.
Dylan Raiola also made history in the win, setting the new school record for passing yards by a freshman with 2,823 yards, surpassing Adrian Martinez, who set the mark in 2018.
Though much history was achieved, Nebraska’s win did come with a few areas that need to be addressed. The Huskers defeated Boston College 20-15 after holding a 20-2 heading into the fourth quarter.
If the Huskers look to take the next step following this season, they need to clean up the miscues made in this game. The mistakes made reflected Nebraska’s season, which cannot continue in the long run for head coach Matt Rhule.
Here is the final report card for the Nebraska football team of the 2024 season.

Raiola threw an interception on the opening drive, missed a few receivers, and continued to fall short of the first down when running with the ball.
But these mistakes didn’t result in any severe consequences and didn’t overshadow a solid outing on the wet Saturday…
