Michigan State football WR transfer moving to the FCS

Michigan State’s Antonio Gates Jr. runs after a catch against Prairie View A&M during the fourth quarter on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

Michigan State football lost wide receiver Antonio Gates Jr. to the transfer portal, when the former four star recruit decided to leave East Lansing after two years with the program.

Following the decision, Gates has found a new home, deciding to commit to Delaware State University, a member of the FCS’s MEAC.

In his two years in East Lansing, Gates played in 14 games, catching 9 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. He will now be a part of a team coached by former NFL star wide receiver Desean Jackson.
