Report: IU football QB Kurtis Rourke played entire season on a torn ACL

IU football quarterback Kurtis Rourke finished ninth in the Heisman Trophy voting… with a torn ACL.

The Hoosiers QB threw for more than 3,000 yards and 29 touchdowns this season, leading IU to the College Football Playoff, all on a torn ACL, per his agent Casey Muir.

Muir told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Rourke re-tore his ACL in August and will have surgery next week as he prepares for NFL draft process. Rourke tore his ACL initially in 2022 playing for Ohio.

Rourke, who wore a bulky brace on his right knee all season, missed a game and a half after needing surgery to repair a torn thumbnail suffered against Nebraska.

A second-team All-Big Ten pick, Rourke is considered a 4th-round prospect, ranging from the 7th to 11th best among QBs eligible for the 2025 NFL draft.
