Texas football will return to its postseason home-away-from-home when it takes on Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium in a College Football Playoff semifinal Jan. 10.
The Longhorns will play in the Cotton Bowl for the 23rd time, which is by far the most appearances in any bowl game. Overall, the Texas program will compete in its 62nd bowl during the CFP semifinal next week. That’s no surprise considering that the Cotton Bowl served as the annual host for the winner of the Southwest Conference, which Texas competed in from 1914 until the SWC disbanded in1996.
